Yesteryear Collection

The Great Western Railway - one of Britain's major pre-nationalisation railway companies (1838-1947) - operated not only trains but also road collection and delivery services for goods traffic. These services supplemented rail transport by collecting parcels and freight from customers' premises and delivering them to railway stations (and vice-versa).
Westbourne Park began as GWR's earliest major locomotive servicing site in London (1850s).
The site transitioned over time into goods and freight handling, part of Paddington's expanding parcel and freight network.
